America’s Summer Of Energy

Is there anyone who loves summer more than we Americans do? Summer is cookouts, hiking, camping and swimming – at the beach, the lake or the cement pond. We love summer so much we’ve put its joys to song. Summer is vacations. We work all the rest of the year for a little summer R&R – to reconnect with family and friends, see the great outdoors or just recharge the batteries.

Summer – like every other season of the year – also is about energy. Natural gas and oil are integrally involved in making our summers cooler, more accessible, safer and better in ways too numerous to count. But we can start with 50. This week we will launch a series of posts – “America’s Summer of Energy” – that shows how energy brings us summer, through the lens of the 50 states.

As the series develops, you’ll see how energy from natural gas and oil are involved in all of our summers, in all aspects of our lives – which is the main point of API’s “Power Past Impossible” communications campaign.

Natural gas and oil provide power – and they empower. They fuel modern economies and everyday living, working and recreating. But their value goes well beyond gas tanks and furnaces. Natural gas and oil make everyday life more comfortable and convenient, more efficient and healthier.

And fun in the summer. That’s what you’ll see as “America’s Summer of Energy” unfolds. Enjoy!
