Job Description:
This position supports planning and execution of Merchandising initiatives for Chevron’s U.S. company owned and operated (COCO) convenience store network and ExtraMile franchise convenience store network. Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
- Ensures merchandising processes and projects are executed with excellence and without incident.
- Educates business consultants, franchisees, store managers, suppliers and contractors on merchandising processes, projects and activities and ensures knowledge transfer.
Key processes include but are not limited to: Management of Change (MOC) for merchandising activities, countdown to go for store resets/POG refreshes, contractor/supplier safe work practices, store level merchandising SWOT analysis, merchandising layout and POG execution and change process. - Improve store level merchandising execution through effective, simplified and efficient tools and processes.
- Collaborate with merchandising and operations colleagues to leverage supplier resources for store level program execution.
- Monitor and manage program execution and resources through completion, gather feedback and share lessons learned with merchandising, store operations and the franchise team.
- Co-Manage (with Category Manages) and directs third party merchandising execution resources.
- Coordinates and integrates changes to in-store consumer messaging and merchandising equipment elements with key support functions like Brand, Merchandising, Franchise and Maintenance and Construction.
- Gain alignment across functions to ensure seamless execution of new/changed program elements.
- Leads the project management efforts for key merchandising program roll-outs.
- Position requires up to 20% travel.
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum 3 years of retail sales / retail operations experience or category management experience
- Knowledge of store level merchandising execution;
- Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook;
- Strong verbal and written communication skills;
- Effective presentation skills small and large group settings;
- Strong project management and influencing skills;
- Effective collaborative skills working across functional groups and with suppliers.

Position purpose:
Line manager of the Biochemical and Microbial Transformations Team at the Shell Technology Centre Houston (STCH). This department provides expert services in the area of biochemistry, microbiology, biochemical engineering, agronomy and crop science. Focus is on programs in Advanced Biofuels and Long Range Research in the Biosciences. As a member of the Biodomain Technology Team in Projects & Technology, you will give leadership and expert support to ongoing Biodomain activities in Bioprocessing serving Alternative Energies and other Shell businesses, guidance to R&D programs within P&T and external partners.
Position accountabilities:
- Ensure that HSE is top priority for the department and that there is full compliance with requirements from Projects and Technology and STCH site, including meeting the requirements for GMO classification and containment under TOSCA
- Lead, manage and coach direct reports, as well as University researchers, to ensure development of skills and capabilities
- Maintain and develop critical skills in various bio-disciplines, including biochemistry, microbiology, biochemical engineering, crop science, agronomy and pilot plant operation; including participating in recruitment as required
- Provide technical leadership and expertise to multiple programs aimed at commercialisation of biofuels and bio-products.
- Provide technical leadership and expertise in biosciences to Shell’s strategic Long Range Research Programme
