What would the holidays be without energy? Sure, you could still roast your chestnuts – provided you had an open fire. And you still might find your way around on a dark, foggy night – with help from a certain reindeer. But in many cities and towns things would be significantly less jolly and less festive, even if it looked like snow.
Enter energy – and more specifically, natural gas.
Energy Tomorrow just posted four new videos, each one reminding us that the holiday season we enjoy depends in many ways on abundant, reliable natural gas. From the clothes we wear to stay warm and dry, to the holiday lights that make for a resplendent winter’s eve, to the toys and other gifts that thrill kids from one to 92, U.S. natural gas is at the center. Here’s the fourth video:
Think about it: If you count the homes directly heated by natural gas and those heated by electricity generated from natural gas, this clean-burning fuel is used to heat more than half the homes in the United States.
Thanks to vast reserves of natural gas found in shale and other tight-rock formations, accessed through safe hydraulic fracturing and advanced horizontal drilling, lots of Americans can be cozy at home during this most wonderful time of the year.
You know, maybe in another popular holiday song they could add a 13th day …
