Sr HR Analyst – Global Payroll Processor

Job Summary
The full-time Sr HR Analyst – Global Payroll Processor will be located at Anadarko’s corporate headquarters in The Woodlands, TX. This position reports to the Global Payroll Manager within the Human Resources function. This is a fast-paced payroll role; therefore the position requires an experienced Payroll professional who is able to multi-task and prioritize efficiently.
As a critical member of the payroll team, this position will process/manage all tasks related to payroll processing for the global payrolls (paying local nationals in several countries). This includes, but is not limited to: payroll accounting, tax filings, expatriate processing, account reconciliations and audit compliance.
The successful candidate will demonstrate an ability to work effectively under pressure, independently and within a collaborative team-oriented culture using sound judgment in decision-making. The payroll processor must be detail-oriented, analytical and able to work well under tight deadlines in a changing environment. The successful candidate must be able to perform multiple tasks effectively and concurrently.
This role requires excellent communication and customer service to internal and external customers. As required, this position will collaborate with HR and other departments to create efficient processes, troubleshoot, research issues, and assist with root cause analysis and recommendations. This position is accountable for the stability and quality of the global payroll process.
Responsibilities
· Oversee complex payroll in multiple countries
· Process global payroll; including expatriate, shadow payrolls and local nationals
· Maintain and update Global Payroll system
· Liaise with Payroll vendor for various requests and/or issue resolution
· Process accurate employee pay calculations
· Research discrepancies with payroll information (e.g. time sheets, leave time etc.) for the purpose of ensuring accuracy and adherence to procedures prior to processing
· Report any payroll issues to the appropriate level/department
· Audit payrolls and prepare payroll journal entries
· Reconcile account balances and comply with related policies, practices and regulations
· Create ad-hoc reports on demand
· Run payroll output interfaces and reports, transmit to outside vendors for processing
· Work with third party tax advisors on expatriate issues
· Provide customer service to employees in the areas of pay and taxes
· Maintain employee historical data
· Collaborate with HR and IT on maintenance and enhancements
· Assist with special projects as needed
· Review system updates and follow up with HRIS staff as required
Qualifications
· 5 + years of experience in multi-state U.S. and global payroll required
· Working knowledge of payroll best practices
· Strong knowledge of federal, state and local regulations
· Ability to analyze and resolve difficult problems independently
· Ability to deal sensitively with confidential material
· Strong work ethic and team player
· Excellent verbal and written communication
· Ability to communicate and work effectively with all levels within the company
· Strong organizational, multi-tasking and prioritization skills
· ADP/Ceridian experience a plus

- Independently analyze and interpret applicable Petroleum Contracts to calculate accurately and provide timely set-ups, payments, and obligations.
- Independently maintain land records to ensure payments made to private, corporate, and government owners are in compliance with all applicable laws, statutes, regulations, and Petroleum Contracts.
