Sr Electrical Engineer – Midstream Engineering

Job Summary:
This position is in Anadarko’s Southern & Appalachia Region as a member of the Facilities Engineering Team on capital projects. Primary responsibilities will consist of (a) providing electrical power system engineering support and (b) providing instrumentation and control system engineering support for Anadarko’s growing oil and gas production/processing operations.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of experience in oilfield related electrical, control, and/or instrumentation systems.
- Expertise in the design, implementation, commissioning/startup, and troubleshooting of instrument, control, and electrical systems. Experience reviewing instrumentation, electrical and control system drawings.
- Expertise in the design of electrical systems including power generation, distribution, and substation technology
- Expertise in industry standard control systems, specifically PLC and DCS controllers and software instructions, with a preference surrounding Allen Bradley (SLC, CLX), Delta V, and Honeywell. This includes expertise in the design and implementation of operating HMI’s including Cygnet, Wonderware, and RS View/FactoryTalk View.
- Experience with implementing control strategies commonly utilized in gas treating/compression facilities, such as PID control loops, motor controls, alarm management and advanced controls.
- Experience in managing projects and teams (internal resources and external contractors)
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards related to oilfield electrical, control, and instrumentation systems
- Demonstrable track record of being a champion in electrical safety
- Ethical, self-motivated individual with good organizational skills

Responsibilities:
- Support engineering, operations, and construction in the design/construction/commissioning/ongoing support of production and midstream facilities
- Engineer, program, and provide ongoing support to operations related to oilfield control systems, including electronic instrumentation, networking, PLC/DCS, VFD, flow computer, HMI, and SCADA technology
- Engineer and provide ongoing support to operations related to industrial power systems for upstream and midstream oil and gas facilities including distribution and off-grid power generation systems (solar, thermoelectric, microturbine, engine-driven, battery-backed systems, etc.)
- Support developing corporate standards and practices associated with instrumentation, automation, and power
- Provide project support by providing guidance and review of engineered solutions including review 3rd party engineering drawings and documents
- Champion for electrical safe work practices and code-compliant electrical construction
- Work effectively with multiple engineering disciplines and operational groups
- Demonstrate excellent professional, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Interface effectively with partners, relevant regulatory agencies, engineering design firms, and construction companies.
