DOE Issues Notice Of Proposed Rulemaking For Small-Scale Natural Gas Exports

On September 1, 2017, the Department of Energy issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking proposing to revise its regulations to expedite the application and approval process for small-scale exports of natural gas.

New York is a national leader on energy and climate. The state’s Clean Energy Standard provides that half its electricity will come from renewables by 2030. The state has also committed to reduce greenhouse gas emissions 80% below 2005 levels by 2050. President Trump undeniably has an unorthodox approach to solving economic problems. During his campaign for President he made a point of declaring that America was getting the short end of trade deals across the globe and advocated policies which some people described as protectionist. China was no exception to this and when he came into office President Trump vowed to remedy what he described as a major trade deficit. Last week he and Chinese leader Xi Jinping struck a deal that will see China receive more U.S. natural gas as well as food imports.
