Employers Post Most Job Openings In Four Years In June

The energy industry – oil & gas sector in particular – is bracing itself for a massive wave of retirements over the short to medium term, which has been dubbed “The Great Shift Change.” As the industry prepares for this turnover, companies are looking to the next generation of candidates with skills ranging from finance, geology, engineering, law, etc.

Additionally, lots of exciting opportunities are opening up in various renewable energy sectors as technological advancements rapidly disrupt traditional utility business models. The energy efficiency business is also growing by leaps and bounds, as significant cost saving benefits associated with using less energy are an easy sell for most businesses.

Sr Business Development Analyst – Corporate Development  

Anadarko; The Woodlands, TX, US

Job Summary:

This position will be located in Anadarko’s corporate headquarters in The Woodlands, Texas, will be a member of the Corporate Development Group and will be responsible for handling of all phases of acquisition, divestiture, joint venture, and similar projects.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 8 or more years of experience, including substantial experience with sophisticated oil and gas transactions, preferably with a publicly traded energy entity. In order to be considered, a candidate MUST have considerable M&A experience, including a background of proven ability to handle complex transactions. Specific qualifications include:

    • Substantial experience with the drafting and negotiation of documentation relating to acquisition, divestiture, joint venture, and similar projects commonly undertaken by a large, publicly traded company including, but not limited to: confidentiality agreements, engagement letters, purchase and sale agreements, and stock purchase agreements.
    • Working knowledge and experience providing advice and services in connection with a corporation’s acquisition, divestiture, joint venture, and similar projects activities.
    • Experience with domestic and foreign subsidiaries.
    • M&A and/or in-house experience a must.
    • Outstanding interpersonal communications skills at all levels of the organization, commercial focus, and a team-oriented approach.
    • Strong writing skills, detail-oriented and a “self-starter” with the ability to prioritize workflow and meet demanding deadlines, in a fast-paced environment.
    • Ability to understand general business operations, and environmental and regulatory issues with respect to acquisition, divestiture, joint venture, and similar projects.

Responsibilities:

    • Engages in the coordination of new business opportunities with multidisciplinary planning teams.
    • Provides complex detailed assessments of business opportunities.
    • Delivers presentations on viable business plans or prospects.
    • Conducts detailed feasibility studies to verify profitability of potential business opportunities.
    • Communicates company strategic plan, ensures business decisions and strategies developed or supported by marketing function are aligned.
    • Serve the Company’s Corporate Development department.
    • Work directly with in-house and outside attorneys, and employees in Anadarko’s Environmental, Regulatory, Land, Land Administration, Finance, and Tax Departments, and the asset teams, to identify and resolve a variety of issues relating to acquisition, divestiture, joint venture, and similar projects.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance, or Business Administration required.
  • Juris Doctorate degree from an ABA accredited law school required strongly preferred.
  • Previous work leadership experience required.

Business Analyst 

Chevron; Makati, Philippines

Responsibilities:  

 

  • Consult to Information Technology (IT) and business partner on applying technology to business opportunities and planning and implementation of cross-functional applications
  • Collaborates with customers, gathering and modeling business requirement/data, business processes, and other business rules in order to ensure alternatives have been carefully considered and that the chosen solution meets business objectives
  • Responsible for documenting, developing and finalizing business and functional requirements
  • Apply Application Lifecycle Management, Operational Excellence (OE) principles, practices and processes to ensure quality results for project planning/deployment
  • Apply rigorous Information Protection standards, define and design application functional and user interface requirements, develop use cases and test plans, involve with system testing, conduct testing validation, lead the development of application documentation and customer training, and assist with implementation
  • Outside the context of new development work, apply the appropriate business analysis tools and methods as needed, in support of existing applications, or in support of the study of proposed changes to the business processes
  • Proactively communicates and collaborate with external and internal customers
  • Develops and maintains test plans for IT applications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or other relevant fields
  • Minimum of 3 years experience as a Business Analyst
  • Experience in an IT project implementation in Chevron supported application software. Demonstrated application of solid IT Business Analysis or Project Management practices to deliver effective business solutions. Good understanding of methodologies used to manage projects.
  • Solid understanding of system configuration and integration points of one or more of Chevron’s supported applications.
  • Highly motivated and a self-starter. Demonstrated ability to work effectively within a diverse team. Ability to manage or work on multiple projects and tasks at one time. Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, prioritize requests, and work independently while producing quality work. Flexible and adaptable when priorities shift due to changing situations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated application of solid IT Business Analysis to deliver effective business solutions Able to communicate effectively with both business partners and other IT professionals
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to manage or work on multiple projects and tasks at one time
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, prioritize requests, and work independently while producing quality work

Senior Build and Release Engineer Job

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Member of the Release Engineering team responsible for all tools related to develop, build, deploy and manage Ariba’s products
  • Architect, design and development and maintenance of the Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment pipeline at Ariba and ensure adoption across teams
  • Collaborate with Architects to make sure various groups are following the best practices for CI/CD pipeline
  • Bring latest technologies and industry best practices to Ariba and work with teams to implement them
  • Design and develop productivity tools for developers and QA teams
  • Manage the version control tools (Perforce, Git), Code Review tool (Crucible), Jenkins and artifact repository (Nexus)
  • Own and improve the build system used by the Ariba products (Maven, Make, Gradle)

Basic Minimum Qualifications:

  • B.S./M.S. Computer Science degree or similar
  • 10+ years working experiences in  build and release engineering
  • Expert in latest Continuous Integration and Build automation tools (such as Maven, Jenkins, Bamboo)
  • Good understanding of version control tools like Perforce, Git, Subversion and have managed them in the past
  • Experience with a mainstream build system like Maven or Gradle
  • Familiarity with SQL databases (such as MySQL, Sqlite, Oracle, SQL Server)
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, basics of how HTTP and other internet protocols work
  • Excellent communication skills and great team player

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Web Application Servers (such as Tomcat)
  • Java, Perl, JavaScript, XML, Ant, and Perl scripting
  • Quick learner with the ability to understand multi-system applications and networks
  • Knowledge of building iOS or Android apps will be an added advantage
