With tax code reform on the political agenda this year, Advanced Energy Economy (AEE), a national business organization representing the advanced energy industry, recently sent a letter to Congress outlining specific ways in which the federal tax code could be adjusted to better support advanced energy technology.

The AEE’s letter, which can be accessed from this post, seeks to level the playing field between entrenched, incumbent technologies and emerging cleantech/renewable energy technology. In order for transport fuels and power generation sources to be eligible for tax incentives under the proposed reforms, AEE states they should be domestically produced, cleaner than existing technology and new to the US.
