Category Specialist, Beverage and Financial Services

Job Description:

Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Category Specialist, Beverage and Financial Services located in San Ramon, CA through January 15, 2016 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time). Overview: This position will work in collaboration with Category Managers in support of their assigned categories, while also working independently in the execution of short and long-term supply chain strategies for commodities and services used.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

 

  • Supports Category Managers on key initiatives and activities.
  • Participates in supplier meetings.
  • Facilitates meetings with Price Book team.
  • Ensures timely setup of monthly promotions for promotional guide.
  • Ensures timely setup of new items for planogram reset.
  • Ensures pricing and promotion information are correct.
  • Prepares category reviews.
  • Completes ad hoc projects and assists with project development.
  • Handles category issues in absence of Category Manager.
  • Works with Rebate team to ensure all vendor rebates are collected.
  • Monitors supplier performance.
  • Assists with resolution of pricing and invoicing issues. Manages new item maintenance process.

Merchandising Support:

  • Supports the merchandising team by creating and executing sales, margin and promotional reports.
  • Analyzes and provides interpretation of sales trends for product categories.
  • Provides support to merchandising team in all classes of trade supported.
  • Manages project setup and expense tracking.

Communication:

  • Creates and communicates SKU cards to stakeholders.
  • Works very closely with Sales Builder Specialist to ensure alignment, strong communication of all promotions and proper data entry for promotional guides.
  • Communicates with Price Book and suppliers on new vendor setup, new products, price and placement.
  • Interacts with Operations team to ensure proper execution of programs and planograms.
  • Analyze and monitor general market conditions
  • Conduct performance reporting and trend analysis
  • Develop and manage supplier relationships
  • Promote innovation and continual improvement in working practices
  • Maintain communication with customers, keeping them informed of any necessary changes to the specification/terms of service with the supplier/contractor
  • Provide subject matter expertise
  • Develop an increased competency and proficiency in category management processes sufficient to communicate and train/mentor others in those processes
  • Directly accountable for the successful implementation and execution of assigned sourcing and supplier performance strategies and the subsequent delivery of value creation to the company for the categories assigned
  • Assist in the development and review of specifications, statements of work, performance terms, and/or acceptance criteria.
  • Help evaluate competitive offerings to determine the overall best value for product/services

Required Qualifications:

 

  • 2 years of related experience
  • Knowledge of merchandising processes and retail operations
  • Able to interact effectively with cross-functional roles

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing.
  • Able to analyze merchandising data and communication trends.

Pricing & Financial Analyst, AFAs

The Pricing & Financial Analyst role is a newly created position that will be responsible for supporting and maintaining the Appropriate Fee Arrangement Program on matters around the world for Shell Legal.

This position will assist the Global Litigation Sourcing Officer and other members of the legal team in the preparation and analysis of the company’s historical work in order to be able to advise, propose, create and subsequently assist in the evaluation of the non-traditional appropriate fee agreements (generally referred to as “AFAs”) of the Company.

The role will be responsible for the compilation and analysis of data relating to AFAs, supporting the transition in Global Litigation and other Legal Syndicates to non-hourly rate based value-based AFAs for all matters involving outside counsel – tracking the KPI’s in our ticketing system. The role will involve significant interaction with the Global Litigation Sourcing Officer and the lawyers of varying experience levels in evaluating and negotiating AFAs. The Pricing & Financial Analyst will support the overall AFA Program and support the development of KPIs and tools to improve efficiency, driving the use of AFAs across the global litigation docket.

On a day to day basis, the Pricing & Financial Analyst will work directly with the Global Litigation Sourcing Officer to support the individual attorneys in evaluating AFA proposals, working to improve on them with creative and innovative approaches, implementing the AFAs, and later monitoring the effectiveness of same.

This includes, but is not limited to: modeling proposed KPIs tied with fee arrangements, producing a summary of various types of fee arrangements in the Company portfolio maintaining and updating the databases used to track such work, curating work product to assist in the development of new AFAs in order to readily disseminate fee arrangement information to Company personnel, assisting the Senior Analysts, and performing day-to-day administration and monitoring tasks associated with client alternative fee agreements.
