HR Business Partner – Rockies

Job Summary

Anadarko Petroleum Corporation has a Human Resources Business Partner position providing onsite support for corporate services employees in its Denver office.

Qualifications 

No minimum years of experience required however the successful candidate will ideally have a minimum of four (4) years of human resources experience providing generalist support to management and employees.

Position Responsibilities

This hands-on position is responsible for supporting APC’s business strategies by delivering best practice HR advice, guidance and service to managers and employees regarding policies in Workforce Strategy and Planning, Analytics, Performance Management, Recruiting, Compensation and Benefits, Employee Relations and Compliance.

 

  • Strong understanding of human resources best practices and policies and the ability to translate them into effective procedures and processes
  • Proven excellent customer service skills
  • A savvy professional with the drive and skills required to innovate, create and execute
  • Adept at prioritization and application of appropriate sense of urgency to all activities

Education  

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field is required. MBA or MS is a plus.

Certification/Licenses  

PHR, SPHR, or GPHR certification is preferred.

Cost Engineering Lead 

Chevron; Questa, NM, US

Overview:

The Cost Engineering Lead will support the creation and management of cost loaded schedules for multiple Project Managers in a business unit environment while reporting to a centralized Cost Engineering function. The position is responsible for a small team, and for all aspects of Cost Engineering namely Planning Scheduling, Estimating, Project Controls and Risk Management. Position Details:

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Facilitate planning meetings to create a work breakdown structure, develop durations, load costs, and derive estimates and budget.
  • Help project teams apply best practices for network scheduling, project assurance, what-if analysis, and critical path management.
  • Provide business plan inputs e.g. forecasts, execution plans, dashboards, and milestone registers.
  • Track performance using earned value management, and help Project Managers identify and make mid-course adjustments.
  • Contribute to efficiency gains and applies Lean Sigma.
  • Guide and assist suppliers who contribute to Cost Engineering process.
  • Strengthen the Cost Engineering function by sharing best practices and lessons learned, mentoring, improving tools/standards, and contributing to networks.
  • Provide functional leadership consistent with Chevron Environmental Management Company (EMC) Cost Engineering practice.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Four year degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or Business.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Cost Engineering for upstream/ downstream oil and gas projects.
  • Demonstrated experience with formal project management systems, principles and associated processes, practices, or tools.
  • Broad knowledge of industry and professional cost engineering.
  • Solid written and verbal skills, with demonstrated ability to establish credibility and influence.
  • Proven ability to manage, provide direction, coaching and mentoring to team members, contractors, and multi-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage onsite construction activity deliverables including: cost estimating, scheduling, forecasting, cost performance tracking and reporting.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in environmental projects.
  • AACE International certification as a Certified Cost Consultant and/or as a Certified Cost Engineer.

Work Experience:

Experience must involve developing Enterprise Applications using object oriented java script, HTML5, CSS; mobile application development using IOS and Android; database fundamentals of SQL and NoSQL Databases; middle ware technologies such as NodeJS, Grunt, Java Spring; big data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark; performance, clustering and virtualization container technologies; working in analytics and BI tools; and Agile development methodology and short release cycles.
