Legal Counsel, Trading & Supply – Houston ,TX

The responsibilities of this position are expected to include advising the North American Trading & Supply companies on transactions for the purchase and sale of crude oil, crude oil products and other commodities, as well as the transportation (pipeline, shipping, rail and road transport), storage and other handling of such products and related services, within the United States, Canada, the Caribbean and Latin American countries. This position is expected to involve providing legal support for negotiations and drafting physical trading contracts, storage, terminalling as well as other infrastructure support agreements and providing legal advice on a wide range of other matters in a dynamic and expanding business model. Included in this effort would be providing general legal advice, reviewing and negotiating confidentiality agreements, guaranties, letters of credit and other similar agreements related to the trading and supply business.

This role requires the attorney to work on diverse matters effectively both independently and in conjunction with more senior attorneys on significant or complex (structured) transactions potentially involving multiple contracts, counterparties and stakeholders. An ability to identify and communicate significant risks succinctly to senior attorneys will be required. This attorney would be responsible for staying abreast of market terms and updating contract provisions as appropriate. There will also be special projects from time to time.

Providing legal support to other matters on an as-needed basis due to other attorneys availability and business requirements.

This position will require the attorney to become familiar with legislation and regulation impacting the trading and supply businesses (including derivatives reform, Commodity Exchange Act, climate change, and various transportation related regulations).

This position will require working closely as part of a team with attorneys providing similar support to the North American Trading & Supply businesses with respect to various trading matter to insure consistency and may provide backup support concerning such matters as time permits.
Experience with physical trading contracts, shipping matters and/or a background in secured transactions and financing transactions would be helpful. Familiarity with one or more of crude oil and crude oil products and master netting agreements and bankruptcy issues affecting trading companies would also be helpful.

The person selected must be self-motivated and thoughtful of colleagues at all levels. This position involves significant interaction with commercial, credit, finance, and contract administration groups and the attorney must be able to interface effectively with all levels of the organization; team working skills are critical.

Job Summary

This position will be part of the Human Resources department in The Woodlands, Texas corporate office and report to the Talent Acquisition Manager.  The Recruiter will partner with Hiring Managers and HR Business Partners to meet the recruiting needs for the Engineering, Land, Regulatory, Finance & Accounting and Administrative functions across the company.

Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a minimum of eight (8) years of human resources experience providing recruiting support in an agency or in-house capacity.

Within the Product & Innovation (P&I) board area, the mission of the Managed Cloud Delivery (MCD) organization is to run the HANA Enterprise Cloud and drive SAP HANA adoption and scale; provide Enterprise-class cloud offering for mission critical operations; and run real-time cloud platform, infrastructure, and managed services, focusing on fast time-to-value at reduced cost and risk.

Managed Cloud Delivery is delivering and running customers SAP Systems. We deliver services from all regions (EMEA/AMER/APJ/MEE) having a strong international focus and cultural diversity. Our organization is expanding its delivery and support team in the Americas time zone.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

As Technical Senior Consultant you will be responsible for the:

  • Entire lifecycle management of assigned MCD Cloud customers to ensure contractual obligation and SLA requirements
  • Fully understand the MCD Cloud portfolio of products to support and ability to deliver service catalog offering; can also function as a “go-to” resource for within the team
  • As an SME (Subject Matter Expert) be a SPOC (Single Point of Contact) for at least one technology or platform (BI, BOBJ, BO DS, HEP, Fiori, Hybris, Solution Manager and S4 HANA) in the MCD Cloud portfolio as a technical expert
  • Ability to “jump into” critical customer down or severe performance situations and provide excellent technical expertise and troubleshooting skills
  • Understand MCD Cloud security compliancy and auditing requirements to ensure customer systems meet or exceed the operating standards at the technical layer
  • Collaborate with different teams from within the MCD organization and outside to ensure excellent customer satisfaction; this includes interfacing with customers

  • Experience in the key technical areas SAP BI, Cloud, Mobility, HANA DB, Sybase ASE and technical monitoring with SAP Solution Manager
  • Good knowledge of network and virtual technologies (load-balancer, virtual machine)
  • Linux/Windows scripting knowledge is a plus
