The energy industry – oil & gas sector in particular – is bracing itself for a massive wave of retirements over the short to medium term, which has been dubbed “The Great Shift Change.” As the industry prepares for this turnover, companies are looking to the next generation of candidates with skills ranging from finance, geology, engineering, law, etc.

Business Development Specialist- Automotive Installed Direct  

Chevron; Houston, TX, US

Overview: This position is focused solely on the development of new business with a focus on sales pipeline opportunities. The Business Development Specialist will be responsible for increasing Chevron’s market share by growing our Havoline Xpress Lube offering and acquiring large multi-location automotive installer business across the south central region.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to: New account acquisition and business development in the automotive Installed Segment. Areas of focus within the sales process include:

 

  • Lead Generation: 1) Work with Inside Sales Reps in lead prioritization. 2) Review sales projections based on lead development and build it into the business plans.
  • Qualify: 1) Manage an active sales pipeline of high priority opportunities. 2) Conduct Initial face to face contact. 3) Establish credibility by emphasizing value generated by Chevron
  • Needs & Solutions: 1) Identify key lubricant, coolant and service issues and other relevant prospect needs. 2) Identify the benefits that will need to be emphasized in the presentation. 3) Estimate opportunity with cost benefit analysis through value based selling tools. 4) Conduct research and evaluate potential program options and select the right products and services based on the customer’s needs. 5) Quantify the value of the products and services to justify the price. 6) Deal convincingly with objections.
  • Presentation: 1) Review pricing strategy being used with the customer. 2) Leverage ISR for support on presentations and modify as needed. 3) Negotiate offer details, present offer, close the sale, and revise proposal, pricing and contract, as needed. 4) Work seamlessly with Business Consultants to establish dual relationship with the customer to enable a smooth handoff into the activate and transition phase that the Business Consultant will own.
  • Administrative: Additional training / role development activities to support and refine new roles.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • 4 year college degree.
  • 1-5 years minimum sales experience.
  • Proven ability to close new business.
  • Strong record of creating and executing a business development plan.
  • Demonstrated industry knowledge in order to build credibility and target the offer
  • Ability to tailor and customize a presentation and offer to address customer segment needs.
  • Ability to develop offers to maximize customer value to Chevron.
  • Experience in using and managing CRM system
  • Excellent ability to identify and meet customer needs.
  • Excellent in building relationships within all levels of customer’s organization.

Site Risk & MoC Coordinator

Job Description: 

  • Acts as a focal point for the management of change process on site.
  • Establish strong relationship with different disciplines to promote the MoC process.
  • Organise change panel meetings and drive the participants to clear decisions and actions.
  • Challenge MoC initiators to comply with the process.
  • Maintain the MoC database and SharePoint (intranet) folders.
  • Provide support and QA/QC to the change initiator in preparing change proposals.
  • Set the agenda of the change panel.
  • Prepare and distribute change panel minutes of meeting.
  • Communicate decisions of the change panel to the wider team.
  • Follow up on actions generated in the Asset change panel and upload supporting documents in SharePoint.

Risk Management:

  • Acts as the focal point of risk management on site.
  • Facilitates risk workshops of different types and formats.
  • Provide qualitative input in risk assessment.
  • Maintain the risk register in EasyRisk.
  • Provide support and QA/QC to Risk owners and Action owners in updating their risks and actions.
  • Compile input to monthly reports.

Principal/Lead UX designer Job

What you will do?

• Study users to deeply understand their SSNiFs (stakeholders, situations, needs leading to the right features)
• Work with product managers to understand the business requirements and help sculpt the product vision
• Generate design briefs to ensure alignment on the problem definition and assumptions
• Lead the UX design project.  This includes deciding the needed activities and coordinating efforts other UX colleagues (visual design, user research, usability).
• Generate models that form the theoretical foundation for great solutions: workflow diagrams, flowcharts, storyboards, personas and more.
• Work with UX design colleagues in other areas to generate more creative ideas, and to ensure cross-suite consistency and integration
• Explore multiple design directions to envision the best possible solution
• Create rapid interactive prototypes as needed to simulate interactions using a tool such as Axure.
• Design UXes for web, phone and tablet
• Work with visual designers to make the experience aesthetically pleasing
• Work with user researchers to do up-front user research, and to validate the product concepts and designs
• Deliver detailed specs and assets to engineering
• Support engineering during the development phase to make sure your designs are faithfully built
• Capture advancements to our standards in our style guide for others to use
• Conduct Kaizen projects to advance our collective thinking or processes

About you

• You have a portfolio of modern, sophisticated interaction designs for web and mobile applications.  Experience designing simple consumer-grade products.
• 5+ experience designing highly interactive mobile and web applications for consumers
• At least a bachelor’s degree in something.  (Your portfolio matters more than how you got there.)
• You have strong design intuition and a natural ability to empathize with different personas
• You are a meticulous craftsperson with strong attention to detail
• You know how to cut through to the essence of a problem and extract simplicity out of complexity.
• You are comfortable representing abstract concepts visually with workflows, wireflows, site maps, concept diagrams and other models.
• You have excellent conceptual and big-picture design skills including: user experience architecture, information architecture.  You have strong information design skills, can can create layouts that clearly communicate the right story.
• You are adept at designing both macro and micro-interactions
• You are up to speed in the latest design trends on both web and mobile
• You have excellent verbal and written skills.  You are able to persuade others of your good ideas.
• You are comfortable building rapid prototypes and scripting interactions to simulate the user experience
• You are comfortable with user research and usability methods
• You are able to lead design projects.  You are able to plan what UX activities to do when, and can organize the other members of the UX team (visual design, user research) to deliver great solutions on time.
• You are positive and optimistic, with a constant thirst to learn and grow.
