Sr Project Communications Lead – Mozambique

Job Summary
The Mozambique Project Communications Lead is part of the Business Development and Planning Department reporting to the Planning Manager.

The Mozambique Project Communications Lead is responsible for supporting the Mozambique Business Development and Planning Team in the identification, development and delivery of internal and external communications related to the Mozambique LNG Project.

This is a leadership role and requires the candidate to possess leadership qualities and the ability to think strategically about the project, its stakeholders and appropriate, effective communications and messaging.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a minimum of eight (8) years strategic communications experience preferably within the Oil and Gas industry. Specific experience and expertise in the following is required:

  • Experience conducting comprehensive stakeholder analysis and developing communication strategies which meet the needs of project stakeholders.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as active listening skills.
  • Advanced editing, proofreading and composition skills.
  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project lifecycle.
  • Experience and knowledge of change management principles, methodologies and tools.
  • Ability to demonstrate leadership qualities which include strong interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills, planning, coordinating and implementing new program ideas.
  • Ability to articulate consistent messages to a variety of audiences.
  • Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships.
  • Highly organized with an attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong planning experience and a demonstrated ability to handle multiple complex projects and meet work deadlines.
  • Acute business acumen and understanding of organizational issues and challenges.
  • Strong use of MS Word and PowerPoint; HTML knowledge desirable.
  • Ability to pass Company physical, drug screen and background security check.

Responsibilities

  • Develop customized communication strategies based on stakeholder needs and project priorities.
  • Develop and execute project communications for internal stakeholders including employees, contractors, project team, Anadarko employees, Mozambique Leadership Team, etc.
  • Develop project communication strategies and plans for external audiences and coordinate with Anadarko/In-Country groups as needed for the detailed development and execution.
  • Collaborate with management as needed to organize, coordinate and schedule Project communications.
  • Develop targeted communications to effectively promote project activities and status within the organization and externally.
  • Research, compose, design and distribute project communications utilizing multiple formats (i.e. print and electronic).
  • Establish and monitor communication feedback channels.
  • Serve as the Webmaster/content manager responsible for publishing and maintenance of all Project-related online content.
  • Serve as the communications liaison with other Anadarko groups in the creation and production of specific communications, including preparing articles and publications, verifying facts and ensuring consistency.
  • Prepare and maintain Q&A for entire project (all functions) to deliver consistent messaging externally (conferences, earning’s calls, investor relations, government affairs).
  • Assist in creating memos, presentations and/or other documentation for Mozambique Strategy Team, EC, BoD and other internal stakeholders (Portfolio, Strategic Planning, Investor Relations, Government Affairs, Public Relations).
  • Generate talking points for senior management and executive meetings with key stakeholders (government, partners, finance, marketing, contractors).
  • Review external material (GoM, partners, other key stakeholders) for consistent messaging.
  • Monitor news related to Mozambique LNG (Area 1 and Area 4) and report how news may impact project.
  • Think proactively and anticipate potential challenges.
  • Evaluate long range implications of tactical decisions, anticipate trends and assess potential risk.
  • Liaise with teams to capture and maintain key risks and mitigations plans.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly internal and external reports and ensure key messages are clearly communicated.
  • Prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.

Education
A bachelor’s degree in English, Journalism or related field is required; MBA or MS is a plus.

Language
Fluent oral and written knowledge of English is required. Knowledge of Portuguese language is preferred.

Travel
10-15% travel is required.

Relocation
This position may be eligible for relocation.

Completions Engineer

Role synopsis: 

The Completions Engineer will report to the Completions Manager. The candidate will work with suppliers and the field organization to deliver a broad range of activities including fracture stimulation, completions design, permeability testing, artificial lift and well testing. The position is responsible for reducing POP time, scheduling and completing wells in a timely manner. This challenging workload will require an experienced individual to keep up with pace of activity.

Key accountabilities: 

  • Deliver timely and accurate assigned completions procedures that are in conformation to applicable standards and processes and in compliance with regulations
  • Deliver activity set and performance plan while demonstrating continuous improvement in assigned Completions
  • Facilitate learning’s from Post Well Reviews, AAR, End of Well Reviews, etc.. with input from Wells Operations, Production Engineering, and/or BU Area Managers
  • Support Wells Operations, and PSCM in supplier performance management
  • Manage the cost cycle through SoR, AFE, execution, supplements, and invoice resolution
  • Foster relationships across multi-functional teams including Drilling & Completions Engineering sub-disciplines, Wells Operations, Base Management, Area Manager, Reservoir Management, and PSCM to deliver Value by being both Safe and Competitive
  • Cooperatively work within a team of completion engineers share lessons learned to implement across all areas.
  • Foster personal development by making regular field visits for execution of well programs as assigned by supervisor
  • Support supervisor in the decision making process, planning, and forecasting
  • Seek and follow up on the use of new technology that has the potential to improve productivity, reduce costs and/ or enhance safety performance.
  • Evaluate competitor and partner performance and embed appropriate changes into L48 procedures
  • Operate within the framework of OMS and L48 Practices
  • Provide operational and engineering technical support to onsite WSLs
  • Participate in daily wells operations call(s)

Essential Education: 

  • BS in Chemical, Mechanical or Petroleum Engineering

Essential experience and job requirements: 

  • Minimum of 5 years Completions experience for oil and gas wells
  • A strong track record as a Completion Engineer including expertise in at least one of : completion design, sand fracturing, flow assurance or CBM
  • Experience with Frac fluid chemistry – slick water, liner and cross link frac fluid systems and compatibilities.
  • Fishing operations
  • Artificial lift background, design and implementation
  • Horizontal fracturing experience
  • Design and planning skills, personal commitment and proactive approach to HSSE, with some coaching and mentoring
  • Strong interpersonal, influencing and communication skills, and network building, demonstrated by an ability to work across teams.
  • A willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of time to Mid-Con field location in order to fulfill the responsibilities of this position, as needed.
  • Skilled in MS Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • IWCF Well Control certificate or equivalent
