Energy and the economy are inextricably linked. Producing modern society’s goods and services and delivering them to markets requires huge volumes of energy in various forms. Whether it’s developing a utility-scale wind or solar power project, bringing a natural gas field online or launching an energy efficiency services company, millions and even billions of dollars can be spent before profits are generated. And bringing investors onboard is part science, part art and a dose of raw talent. These are the people who help raise the funds and do the analysis needed to get energy projects and programs built.
