The energy industry – oil & gas sector in particular – is bracing itself for a massive wave of retirements over the short to medium term, which has been dubbed “The Great Shift Change. As the industry prepares for this turnover, companies are looking to the next generation of candidates with skills ranging from finance, geology, engineering, law, etc.

Additionally, lots of exciting opportunities are opening up in various renewable energy sectors as technological advancements rapidly disrupt traditional utility business models. The energy efficiency business is also growing by leaps and bounds, as significant cost saving benefits associated with using less energy are an easy sell for most businesses.

HES Specialist – Risk Management 

Chevron; San Ramon, CA, US

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Provide guidance to Chevron’s Downstream & Chemicals Organization and serve as a Subject Matter Expert on risk management.
  • Oversee implementation of the HAZOP-LOPA process including certification of PHA facilitators; maintenance of facilitator certification, including periodic review of PHAs; interpretation of HAZOP-LOPA rules and conducting training courses for PHA participants.
  • Establish guidance to strengthen or enhance the timely identification of risk issues and implementation of risk reduction measures.
  • Assist in identification of required risk reduction across a broad spectrum of DS&C activities including normal operations, turnarounds and special projects such as Human Factors Analysis, Safety Instrumented Systems and Pressure Relief Device revalidation.
  • Identify sources of risk-relevant items contained in Regulations, Standards, Advisories or Best Practices. Map these sources to groups or individuals within Chevron and identify gaps.
  • Establish DS&C risk protocols to strengthen or enhance the timely identification, implementation and verification of conformance with Regulations, Standards, Advisories and Best Practices.
  • Clearly define responsibilities in the Corporation for individuals or groups who are the points of contact for reviewing and advising on Risk Regulations, Standards, Advisories and Best Practices.
  • Act as a point of Contact for some of these and steward all the Point of Contacts and the information they provide.
  • Review Regulations, Standards, Advisories and Best Practices and compare them to existing CVX and NOJV Standards and identify gaps.
  • Work with the appropriate DS&C leaders to determine the specific actions to close these gaps if appropriate.
  • Regularly review Regulations, Standards, Advisories and Best Practices to identify new items and monitor status of existing items.
  • Develop and maintain a broad network of industry contacts, both national and international, to provide awareness of industry trends and future regulations.
  • Participate in the development of risk-related industry standards and guidelines.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years Oil & Gas experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in providing consultation on these items both internally and externally.
  • Subject matter expert in risk – Able to identify areas of risk, recommend policies or strategies to reduce risk and implement plans and processes accordingly.
  • Proven ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Must have the professional experience and demeanor to quickly gain credibility with external stakeholders and within DS&C organization, in order to drive risk reduction strategies.
  • Proactively seeks solutions to problems and accepts accountability to find solutions.
  • Ability to identify regulatory and compliance risks and propose and implement solutions to close gaps.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and doing things safely and reliably every time.
  • Proven track record of applying OE processes such as IIR, CHESM, MSW, Environmental Stewardship, and Emergency Management in field operations.

Accountant – Financial Reporting

Job Summary
This position is located at Anadarko’s Timberloch Building in The Woodlands, TX and is a member of the Financial Reporting – Audit Coordination Team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in public accounting or industry accounting role
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to prioritize assignments and work under tight deadlines
  • Intermediate Microsoft Office skills, primarily Excel
  • Financial statement audit experience a plus
  • Oil and gas industry experience a plus

  • SEC / GAAP reporting and compliance experience a plus

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the coordination of the annual financial statement audit, quarterly reviews, and statutory audits
    – Manage PBC (Prepared by Client) lists
    – Analyze audit questions and responses for reasonableness to aid in audit efficiency
    – Work with various departments within the Company to provide responses to audit questions
    – Provide support for audit sampling requests on a quarterly basis
  • Prepare assigned Financial Reporting PBC schedules on a quarterly basis
  • Prepare assigned schedules to support disclosures in SEC filings
  • Review draft SEC filings, investor presentations, and Audit Committee slides and provide feedback
  • Special projects as assigned

Education
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration or equivalent work experience.

Grade and salary will be commensurate with relevant education and experience.

Licenses/Certifications
CPA or CPA-eligible preferred

Customer Engagement Executive Job

KEY AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY AND TASKS

The Customer Engagement Executive (CEE) has overall responsibility for the daily management of assigned Cloud customer accounts, including account management strategies as well as engagement and expansion plans to ensure profitable growth within these customers.  The focus of this position is twofold, to maximize the value that customers and SAP receive through adoption and use of the Network and to ensure that the customers deploy and use of all of their entitled subscription software.  The CEE is expected to serve as the primary point of contact for the customer and to maintain customer satisfaction through issue mitigation and escalation management.  The CEE is responsible for retention of the revenue associated with customers within their portfolio, effective positioning of the specific Line of Business value proposition in order to leverage adoption of our solutions and services necessary to support the customer.  The CEE role may be inside or field based.

Develop and implement account strategies and implementation plans for emerging and renewal customers that further existing account adoption and identify new business opportunities within assigned accounts.  These plans should:

  • Increase spend under management, network adoption, transaction volume and trading relationships on the Network
  • Ensure rapid adoption and enablement of solutions that drive network value for the customer
  • Expand business process automation across the specific Line of business applications
  • Increase the customer’s usage of their contracted cloud applications up to and beyond the entitlements that they have.
  • Track SLA performance and overall customer satisfaction
  • Meet or exceed account-specific revenue and profitability goals for account portfolio including but not limited to renewals, subscription software expansion, and network revenue growth.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with other regional business teams (such as SAP and Cloud LoB AEs, Services Account Managers, AGS support personnel, GADs, MPs and other customer facing personnel) in support of global customers and corporate functions necessary to support all assigned accounts.
  • Act as primary escalation point for cloud solutions for those accounts within their portfolio
  • Drive opportunity development (including growth and qualification of pipeline in conjunction with assigned Account Executives) and accurate forecasting  of the renewal and network growth opportunities
  • Deal management and commercial negotiation of the entire opportunity (from opportunity to close)  for renewals
  • Facilitate quarterly Account Reviews with customer and Account team members to confirm ongoing customer account goals and strengthen relationships
  • Manage new account assignment into portfolio

EXPERIENCE & LANGUAGE REQUIREMENTS 

  • 3-5 years of experience in the following areas:
  • Selling or delivering consulting services
  • Managing complex customer engagements
  • Commercial experience including experience developing account management plans and contract negotiation
  • Line of Business specific experience – specific to the LoB that they are being primarily hired into. Examples include:
  • Supply chain, Finance and Procurement and eBusiness expertise
  • Human capital management, recruitment, learning, compensation and talent management expertise
  • Customer relationship management, sales, sales force automation and sales team management expertise
  • Financial systems, financial planning and enterprise resource planning expertise
  • Complex Account Management
  • Multi-lingual a plus depending upon region
  • Proficiency In Microsoft Office: Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
