Process Hazards Analysis Facilitator 

Chevron; El Segundo, CA, US

Job Description: 

Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Process Hazards Analysis Facilitator located in El Segundo, CA through March 23, 2015 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Facilitating Process Hazards Analyses (PHAs) for refinery operation processes utilizing the Hazard and Operability (HazOp) and “What-if” methodologies.
  • Facilitating Safety Objective Analyses (modified Layer of Protection Analysis) in conjunction with new project PHAs.
  • Working with appropriate Subject Matter Experts to ensure necessary technical issues and operating hazards are fully discussed during risk assessments.
  • Reviewing and auditing risk assessment reports for Quality Assurance.
  • Working with colleagues at other refineries to maintain consistent and sustainable process safety and risk management processes as part of the Refinery Operational Excellence Management System (OEMS).
  • Developing and executing refinery risk management improvement programs.
  • Writing and updating procedures for Risk Management related processes.
  • Conducting analyses in a team environment.
  • Working with management to develop both action plans and risk reduction plans to address team findings. Publishing paper and electronic documentation of risk assessments.
  • Create detailed, formal reports for each study.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with facilities and operations within the Petroleum and/or Chemical industries.
  • Demonstrated strong technical understanding of process operations in the Petroleum and/or Chemical industries.
  • Proven ability to lead discussions around risk recognition and mitigation with operations and technical personnel and subject matter experts.
  • Proven skill at driving a diverse team to consensus while still ensuring that all members contribute to and endorse the final product.
  • Proven ability to proactively address gaps in an organization’s Process Safety Management (PSM) processes to improve safety culture.
  • Proven proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint and proven ability to adapt to and use a variety of database applications.
  • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Trained and Approved Risk Management Facilitator (experience facilitating PHA/Hazop Studies).
  • In depth knowledge of large scale Refining Facility in the Petrochemical industry.
  • Understanding of key business drivers, OE/Safety standards and processes.
  • Experience using relevant systems such as Refinery Operational Excellence Management System (OEMS).
  • Ability to lead teams using influence model across levels and business segments in the refinery. ·
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated strong project management experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
  • Proven experience participating in or facilitation of at least 5 Process Hazard Analysis (PHA) reviews. ·  Demonstrated proficiency using PHAPro7 or an equivalent database.
  • Proven recent experience conducting PHAs and risk assessments in an operating environment. ·  Demonstrated knowledge of OSHA PSM Regulations.
  • Proven experience with incident investigations.
  • Proven experience in implementing Process Safety Improvement Programs.

Engineering Technologist – Wattenberg Planning 

Anadarko; Denver, CO, US

Job Summary
This engineering technologist position will be located in the Company’s Denver office working with the Drilling Department. Successful candidates will be responsible for data management, data analysis/interpretation and training and development of other staff.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three (2) years of engineering work experience.
  • Strong technical, data management and interpersonal skills.
  • High software aptitude with ability to program in Excel and Access, VBA preferred.
  • Robust knowledge of database and spreadsheet applications, specifically Microsoft Access and Excel.
  • Self-motivated individual with strong work ethic and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational skills, knowledge of database and spreadsheet applications and good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Takes initiative to maintain and increase technical and working knowledge.
  • Track record of utilizing technology to enhance data flow & process improvement

Responsibilities

  • Support engineering and geoscience staff by combining data to develop, update and monitor multiple engineering databases.
  • Perform analysis and make recommendations on engineering data for troubleshooting and problem solving efforts.
  • Analyze processes, recommend implementation and utilize technology to execute process improvements.
  • Streamline and automate manual procedures, where possible utilizing software and programming such as Excel, Access, VBA, etc.
  • Coordinate and communicate across disciplines, applying lessons learned and best practices.
  • Maintain data and evaluate asset performance to drive efficiencies into the business.
  • May be responsible for written and verbal presentations to management.
  • Takes an active part in team meetings and decisions.
  • Uphold all company environmental, health and safety policies and principles.
  • Role model for highest professional and ethical behavior.
  • Assist the engineering team with data management, data assimilation and organization and process improvement.
  • Update, maintain and manage the team’s various technical databases, which could include OFM, Aries and other internal software programs. Gain familiarity with APC production and accounting systems and become proficient in extracting and compiling production and cost information as needed.
  • Proactively seek to improve systems, data management, processes and team functionality.
  • Successfully complete industry related training and coursework, assigned by Anadarko Petroleum Corporation.

Work Experience:

Position requires 5 years of banking industry experience and 5 years of experience in the design and implementation of banking technology solutions. Experience must include the design and development of adaptable and expandable solutions based on Global Banking Architecture and Implementation Models. Experience with platforms and technologies used in the banking industry, including combining various components and applications into a comprehensive Banking Services solutions required. Experience integrating banking business processes into an integrated application with state of the art user also required. Experience must include international banking standards and financial products. Experience must involve localization and legal compliance requirements in the banking industry and the development of complex solutions to address such requirements. 40% travel required.
