The energy industry – oil & gas sector in particular – is bracing itself for a massive wave of retirements over the short to medium term, which has been dubbed “The Great Shift Change. As the industry prepares for this turnover, companies are looking to the next generation of candidates with skills ranging from finance, geology, engineering, law, etc.

Additionally, lots of exciting opportunities are opening up in various renewable energy sectors as technological advancements rapidly disrupt traditional utility business models. The energy efficiency business is also growing by leaps and bounds, as significant cost saving benefits associated with using less energy are an easy sell for most businesses.

Greenwood Energy Announces Two Senior Staff Additions

New York – February  24, 2015 – International renewable energy company Greenwood Energy today announced the additions of John Malloy as Senior Vice President of Business Development for the United States and Jason Fromberg as Senior Vice President of Project Finance.  “John’s unique and extensive experience and insight into the North American market meshes perfectly with one of our most important global focus areas,” said Camilo Patrignani, CEO of Greenwood Energy.

Malloy is responsible for leading business development efforts in the U.S. and Canada, including originating and managing relationships with developers, as well as sourcing new development and acquisition opportunities. With over 25 years’ energy industry experience, he brings considerable business and corporate development, strategy, construction and asset management, and finance expertise to the Greenwood team.

“Europe and the U.S. are two of the most dynamic markets for renewable energy today and Jason’s background make him particularly well suited to help Greenwood succeed in both regions, said Patrignani.

Fromberg is primarily responsible for managing the financing, acquisition, and development of clean energy projects with a particular focus on Europe and the U.S.  He graduated with a dual degree in Economics and Mathematics from Cornell University, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa, and earned an MBA in finance from New York University.He is a CFA charterholer.

Greenwood currently has 3.3Tgigawatt renewable power project pipeline across the fast growing U.S. and Latin American clean energy markets. In 2014 the company secured more than $110 million in investment from John Hancock Life Insurance in two separate funding rounds, and has either begun or completed solar photovoltaic projects in Chile,Panama, and Mexico; as well as several states across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeastern U.S.

Petroleum/Production Engineer – Appraisal Team

Chevron; Calgary, Canada

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Generate production reserve forecasts for appraisal wells.
  • Conduct technical evaluation following well completions and tie-in (dFITs, PTA, RTA, etc.).
  • Evaluate and propose future appraisal activities to help reduce key uncertainties prior to FID.
  • Ensure acquisition of pressure data (and production data) is of extremely high quality during completion and production (including BHP data).
  • Evaluate well results (frac size, proppant type, initial production rate, estimate ultimate recovery, testing methodology, monitoring, etc.) and propose enhancements for future wells.
  • Assess competitor activity, technology developments and cost improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, specialization in Petroleum Engineering
  • Must be member of APEGA or provincial equivalent or eligibility for such
  • Minimum 8 years of relevant upstream industry experience
  • Ability to represent the Company’s best interests in a constructive and professional manner during interaction with internal and external stakeholders
  • Must have demonstrated project management skills including developing work plans within multi-disciplinary teams to deliver quality work on time
  • Demonstrated ability to work productively in a team environment, both supporting other team members and contributing to the effectiveness and reliability of the team.
  • Demonstrated commitment to behavioural based safety programs and ensuring incident and injury free working conditions.
  • Must be flexible and able to adapt to changing work priorities and deliver high quality, accurate work with multiple deadlines.

Job Summary
Responsible for evaluation, planning and execution of an active drilling program
Responsibilities

  • Responsible for sedimentology, stratigraphic concepts and core descriptions
  • Utilize geological workstations to interpret new development and exploration opportunities
  • Use well logs, seismic data and regional geologic trend data to create play and prospect scale maps to evaluate exploration opportunities
  • Perform geological studies to improve reservoir characterization and field development
  • Construct geological models by using maps and sections across a diverse set of software platforms
  • Prepare and analyze geologic cross-sections and integrate data from multiple sources into regional play concepts

Education and Experience
Master’s degree in Geology, Geophysics, or related field and 2 years of experience in development geology, stratigraphy, sedimentology and core descriptions; or PhD in Geology, Geophysics or related field.

Purpose and Objective of Job:

SAP America, Inc. seeks a Senior Support Engineer to deliver Onsite & Remote Services for MaxAttention, Active Embedded and Mission Critical Support (Escalations & Task forces, MCS Back office) including Optimization, Assessment, Technical Integration/ Validation, Empowering trainings and workshops.

Expectations and Tasks of Job:

Performs root cause analysis and delivers services in very complex environments for specific areas for the top customer segment. Lead de-escalation activities onsite at critical customers (De-escalation Architect). Play a key role in war room engagements.

  • Deliver onsite services as Team Lead for critical customers. Identify top issues of engagements at critical customers. Lead analysis of system landscape and technical issues. Lead analysis of core business processes for all applications.
  • Lead analysis of system and application operation. Develop comprehensive service plans for customers. Deliver onsite services as functional expert for broad area of topics. Cover at least one area of expertise within E2E Solution Operations: E2E Root Cause Analysis and diagnostics (incl. certification); E2E Change Control Management; E2E Business Process Integration and Automation Management.
  • Deliver technical integration validation; performance analysis and optimization of E2E business processes; data consistency analysis; check of critical interfaces regarding performance and transactional correctness. Initiate and lead new initiatives and activities for preventive services. Develop concepts for service / business process / product development.
  • Give feedback to development to enhance/adapt existing services, business process, products and functions. Builds up expert knowledge and develops support services for new products/components and ramp-up solutions. Adapt standard service products to customers’ individual needs. Act as a driver in projects and key project member.
  • Take over Backoffice responsibilities as de-escalation architect. Perform weekend Duty Manager tasks. Develop and execute service and de-escalation plans for critical customers.
  • Deliver onsite and remote services, including evaluation, planning and coordination of SLO conversion projects in collaboration with the customer and the responsible SAP subsidiaries.  40% travel required.

Experience must involve SAP CRM Marketing and Trade Promotion Management, Business Process Analysis and Optimization; SAP CRM Sales and Service, Business Process Analysis and Optimization; SAP CRM Middleware Analysis and Optimization; Error Root Cause Analysis and Debugging within SAP applications; ABAP Analysis and Optimization.  40% travel required.

Education and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, Technology, or related field of study and 5 years of experience required.  Will accept a Master’s degree and 3 years of experience.
