Production Team Support Engineer (PTSE) 

Shell; Port Arthur, TX, US

Purpose

The Production Team Support Engineer (PTSE) provides coordination and leadership within Refinery Production Areas through project management, problem solving, small project execution, threat identification and risk assessment, engineering support to operations and maintenance, and turnaround support. Through this position, the individual will develop and provide technical expertise in Static Equipment, Piping Systems, Pressure Vessels, Materials and Corrosion, and associated inspection techniques. This role interfaces with Engineers, Operators, and Maintenance Personnel.

Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the design and implementation of expense projects and small capital projects related to Health, Safety, and Environmental threats, reliability threats within a Production Area.
  • Act as the focal point for project development and management through the Production Team. This includes developing estimates, obtaining project funding, and developing design packages.
  • Provide Engineering support for reactive maintenance and unplanned work, as required.
  • Actively participate in department and site level safety initiatives in an overall effort to achieve a goal of zero injuries, including weekly staff safety meetings, field safety engagements, and Production Area safety walks.
  • Champion Management of Change (MOC) by leading cross-discipline changes and providing guidance to engineering disciplines leading single discipline changes.
  • Act as an active member of the department duty support team, providing Project Engineering support for refinery emergencies.
  • Lead and participate in both large and small scale investigations focused on Health, Safety, Environmental, and Reliability Incidents.
  • Provide Engineering support to the Turnaround Organization during the planning and scope development for upcoming turnarounds.
  • Provide Engineering support during Turnaround Execution, including project support and reactive issues.
  • Provide leadership in Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) through technical support of equipment preventative maintenance strategy development.

Requirements:

  • Must have legal authorization to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline preferably in Mechanical or Civil.
  • Minimum three (3) years of related Manufacturing Industry experience (Petrochemical or Refinery experience preferred).
  • Related experience in reliability maintenance (including a sound understanding of Engineering and Maintenance processes).
  • Knowledge of the concepts of Risk and Reliability management.
  • Strong trouble-shooting and analytical skills.
  • Experience with fact-based decision-making and root cause analysis.
  • SAP preferred
  • Caesar II Pipe Stress Analysis and PV Elite preferred.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interface with personnel from diverse backgrounds at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated skill of working with teams to achieve a common goal.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects.

Sr Auditor – Corporate IT Audit

Job Summary
This position is located in Anadarko’s offices in The Woodlands as a member of the Corporate Audit Department’s Information Technology (IT) Audit team.

Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this position should possess the following minimum qualifications:

  • A minimum of 8 years of IT Auditing experience, preferably in the oil and gas industry (upstream and/or midstream)
  • Prior experience with conducting cybersecurity, SAP, database, operating/networking system and project implementation reviews a plus
  • Ability to provide candid feedback, both verbal and written, to the auditor-in-charge or team leader on critical issues
  • Ability to establish and maintain credibility and trust with clients
  • Demonstrated skills in managing multiple assignments and determining the priority of each assignment to the overall audit schedule
  • Demonstrated critical thinking skills to assess risks, and to effectively convey issue and recommended solution to customer management
  • Demonstrated results with diverse projects in identifying and communicating improvement opportunities
  • Strong customer service orientation with a focus on high quality

  • Responsible for using independent judgment and discretion in obtaining, analyzing, and appraising evidentiary data as a basis for an informed, objective opinion on the adequacy and effectiveness of the system and the efficiency of activities being reviewed
  • Makes or assists in making, oral or written presentations to management during and at the conclusion of the examination, discussing deficiencies, recommending corrective action, and suggesting improvements in operations and reductions in cost
  • Prepares formal written reports, as requested, on the adequacy and effectiveness of the system and the efficiency of workflow execution
  • Appraises, or assists in appraising, the adequacy of the corrective action taken to improve deficient conditions
  • Promotes safety awareness and follows safety procedures in an effort to reduce or eliminate accidents
  • Performs special projects and presentations as needed

 

Education
Candidate should possess a Bachelor’s degree, in systems, accounting, or other business discipline with minimum 24 hours of management information systems or computer science coursework.

Grade and salary will be commensurate with relevant education and experience.

Certifications/Licenses
Professional certification in Systems, accounting or financial field, e.g., CISA, CISSP, CPA or CIA is preferred.

Relocation
This position is eligible for domestic relocation.

Travel Requirements
The percentage of travel required for this position is 0 – 25%.

Work Schedule
This position is eligible for the 9/80 work schedule.
