The energy industry – oil & gas sector in particular – is bracing itself for a massive wave of retirements over the short to medium term, which has been dubbed “The Great Shift Change.” As the industry prepares for this turnover, companies are looking to the next generation of candidates with skills ranging from finance, geology, engineering, law, etc.

Land Specialist 

Anadarko Petroleum Corporation; Platteville, CO, US 

Job Summary:

This position is located in Anadarko’s Rockies Region as a member of the Wattenberg Land Team.

Qualifications:

– Minimum of 3 years; oil and gas experience
– Strong interpersonal and communication skills – both written and verbal
– Self-starter and motivated learner that is able to work both independently with minimum supervision and within a collective group to support project requirements
– Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
– Ability to work in a team environment, support and meet project milestones, and work on multiple projects in conjunction with other requirements
– Handle confidential and proprietary company data and information
– Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and willing to learn other computer applications

Responsibilities:

– Assist with preparation of documents, agreements, permits and correspondence
– Monitor and track external and internal documents for timely execution and proper recording
– Code incoming invoices with appropriate account codes and forward to Landman for approvals
– Analyze, input and maintain AFE requests, leases, contracts and wells in SAP and internal Anadarko systems
– Track contractual obligations
– Assist Landman with ordering title and clearing to drill
– Run reports, create exhibits and provide lease and well information from the Anadarko systems
– Other various administrative duties required to support the company and contract land staff

Education:

Minimum of high school diploma/equivalent

Grade and salary will be commensurate with relevant education and experience

This position is not eligible for relocation

Travel Requirements:

The percentage of travel required for this position is 0 – 10%

Construction Supervisor

Description
 
ConocoPhillips Alaska is currently recruiting for an experienced Construction Supervisor for support of the Capital Project Organization, CD5/GMT1 Team serving as a Project Completions, Commissioning, and Start up Lead. This position is North Slope based.
 
Responsibilities
 

The Construction Supervisor’s major responsibilities may include:

  • Leading HSE performance by communicating, fostering, supporting, and enforcing CPAI HSE policies, procedures, guidelines, requirements, and objectives. Promoting the use of HSE Leading Indicators, Proactive Measures and Predictive Indicators
  • Providing construction input into the implementation of “Safety Through Design” process during project development
  • Implementing the constructability process
  • Developing the front end construction execution plans and transitioning the plan to the field for implementation
  • Providing input into the development of the projects construction schedules
  • Providing input into the development of project estimates
  • Providing Construction Planning along with bid preparation and evaluation
  • Oversee Functional Check Out (FCO), Project Completion Systems (PCS) and Handover, Start-up and Commissioning in accordance with project plans
  • Implement change management process during project completions, commissioning and handover
  • Leading PCS resources and coordinate contractor FCO resources throughout the project completion, handover, and commissioning process
  • Performing contract closeout(s)
  • Acting as the liaison between the installation contractors, FCO contractor and the project team to resolve PCS, FCO, and handover and commissioning issues
  • Implementing the CPO readiness process and recommend approval for contractor start of work
  • Providing input into the project risk management plans
  • Managing the development and implementation of the project FCO contract

Basic/Required

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Current Alaska Journeyman Electrician Fitness Card
  • 15+ years of progressive experience in Alaska Construction (or similar arctic environment) in the electrical field
  • 7+ years of construction management experience on oil/gas projects in a leadership role (Foreman, General Foreman, Superintendent, Administrator, or Project Manager)
  • 5+ years or more direct experience in project completion systems, handover, commissioning and start-up of oil and gas components and systems

Preferred

  • Current Alaska Electrical Administrators Class UCW Card
  • Previous Quality Control and/or Quality Assurance experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Previous Functional Check Out (FCO) experience in the oil and gas industry
  • Experience in administering major components of construction execution plans, from contract set-up through execution and start-up
  • Previous Construction Management experience in Alaska or a similar arctic environment on oil / gas projects.
  • Experience in the oil and gas industry with lighting systems, battery banks, heat trace, tubing, instruments, gages, and control devices.
  • Experience with electrical and automation terminations on switchgear, transformers, pumps, and motors.
  • Experience with Class1 Division 1 installations including fire detection and suppression systems.
  • Strong demonstrated interpersonal / team building skills
  • Strong demonstrated leadership, communication, ability to influence, and organizational skills
  • Takes ownership of actions and follows through on commitments
  • Develops realistic plans needed to accomplish objectives and team goals
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to delivering results while maintaining a safe environment

The HR Development Program will provide the successful candidate with not only a working knowledge of Human Resource practices and procedures, but also an understanding of how the HR team works in partnership with the business, GE Home & Business Solutions. The program is two years in length and includes two to three rotational assignments in various locations while on program. The program member must be mobile and have a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or equivalent.

The HR Development Program Member will focus heavily on employee relations.

In addition, the role will: 

  • Work with leaders and employees to establish and maintain a positive work environment, which encourages the full use of diverse talents and abilities 
  • Act as an employee advocate; help drive various corporate and business initiatives 
  • Identify recruiting needs, develop sources of qualified candidates; facilitate screening, testing and selection of applicants with management 
  • Drive HR processes such as e-HR dashboard, annual HR review (Session C), organizational effectiveness and performance management 
  • Be responsible for conflict resolution, employee communications and management coaching 
  • Implement process improvement (Six Sigma / Lean), including leading change initiatives, planning, and facilitation; staffing and pipeline development
