WASHINGTON, D.C. — On Monday, August 4, 2014, U.S. Secretary of Energy Dr. Ernest Moniz released the following statement regarding Dr. Grace M. Bochenek becoming the new director of the National Energy Technology Laboratory:

“This week, the Department of Energy welcomes Dr. Grace M. Bochenek as the new director of the National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL).

In her new role at NETL, Dr. Bochenek will oversee DOE’s lead laboratory for fossil energy and a portfolio of research central to the Department’s work addressing our nation’s energy and environmental challenges. She will lead NETL as it seeks transformative scientific and technological solutions in support of our nation’s all-of-the-above energy strategy.

I also want to thank acting director Scott Klara for his leadership during this transition.
