San Francisco Career Fair Helps Military Veterans Find Jobs

The energy industry – oil & gas sector in particular – is bracing itself for a massive wave of retirements over the short to medium term, which has been dubbed “The Great Shift Change.” As the industry prepares for this turnover, companies are looking to the next generation of candidates with skills ranging from finance, geology, engineering, law, etc.

Additionally, lots of exciting opportunities are opening up in various renewable energy sectors as technological advancements rapidly disrupt traditional utility business models. The energy efficiency business is also growing by leaps and bounds, as significant cost saving benefits associated with using less energy are an easy sell for most businesses.

Team Lead, US Onshore Titles

Shell; Houston, TX

This position is focused on all onshore drilling title matters throughout the continental United States, where Shell and our industry joint venture partner operate rigs across an acreage portfolio comprising approximately 2 million acres. This position reports to the US Land & Contracts Manager.

Naval Architect

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Work with multi disciplined projects and teams to produce, design and construct packages through operational requirements review, design studies, and engineering analysis
  • Use complex mathematical and/or computer modeling to ensure that designs meet operational requirements and safety rules and standards of Classification Societies and other entities
  • Assume the position of owner representative during construction of marine vessels and the subsequent warranty period, and be the interface between Marine Department, execution teams, end users, and the classification society
  • Lead the efforts to produce accurate drawings including timely review and approval
  • Carry out long-range planning for vessels replacement and/or upgrade programs in addition to projects progress and milestones.

Project Development Manager, Storage 

Solar City; San Mateo, CA

The Project Development Manager, Energy Storage (PDM) will be responsible for originating Energy Storage projects as well as supporting SolarCity Commercial Project Development Managers to sell add-on Energy Storage related products.  This individual will need to possess a deep understanding of utility rate structures and have extensive experience in negotiating Power Purchase Agreements, Tolling Agreements, EPC contracts, etc.

The PDM will report directly to the Director, Project Development, Energy Storage, and will be a quota carrying role with both annual and quarterly attainment targets. The PDM must be based in either San Mateo, CA or in the North East, and must be willing to travel up to 50% of the time both domestically and internationally.
