The energy industry – oil & gas sector in particular – is bracing itself for a massive wave of retirements over the short to medium term, which has been dubbed “The Great Shift Change.” As the industry prepares for this turnover, companies are looking to the next generation of candidates with skills ranging from finance, geology, engineering, law, etc.

Senior Geologist

This Geologist position is located in The Woodlands TX as a member of the Maverick Basin Asset team. This position will undertake geologic studies to improve reservoir characterization for field development efforts and exploitation opportunities. Candidate will identify drilling targets and recommend well programs needed to support reservoir management priorities established by the group, by applying geo-scientific knowledge to help achieve asset team goals in a cost-effective manner. Position communicates and integrates analysis and recommendations made with associated multidisciplinary team.

Project Engineer

Total; Beaumont, TX

  • Safely manage the execution of capital projects at all the company’s manufacturing facilities.
  • Work in conjunction with Process/Product Development Department and plant-based engineers develop capital project scope, cost estimates, and economic justifications.
  • Act as a resource to all manufacturing facilities to assist local engineers in implementing capital projects.
  • Assist the facilities with low or no capital improvements that improve safety, equipment availability and improve profitability/reduce costs.
  • Participate in continuous improvement teams as assigned.
  • Work with site and corporate personnel to coordinate the development of the LTP (long term plan) – a 10 year plan for capital spending for the combined US sites.
  • Participate in ISO (international standards organization), ISRS (International Safety Rating System), PSM (process safety management), RMP (risk management program) and Responsible Careâ activities.
  • Help ensure a place of employment that is free from recognized hazards by performing all job functions in a safe and prudent manner and participating in loss control activities; complying with all applicable loss control related rules and regulations and the Company’s loss control policy; and by reporting unsafe conditions, loss control opportunities, work-related accidents, injuries or illnesses.

Program Development Technical Associate

Ocean Thermal Energy Corporation; Manassas, VA

Conduct technical and non-technical work relating to feasibility studies and system designs for Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) power plants. This includes OTEC feasibility studies, economic analysis, and project proposal activities, as directed by Project Manager and Executive Team.

Additionally, contribute research to business development activities, review documents for accuracy, maintain key technical documents, and provide support in sourcing components from vendors.
