Oil and gas producer Cabot  will pay a $975,000 civil penalty and spend an estimated $84 million on technology to control harmful air pollution to resolve Clean Air Act violations in Louisiana and Texas related to its carbon black manufacturing business. The Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality will receive $292,500 of the total. The Department of Defense and the Natural Resources Defense Council have developed guidelines for renewable energy sources on or around military ranges, airspace and installations. The guidelines “are designed to better screen solar and wind projects and avoid potential conflicts with military operations or sensitive environmental areas”. You can find them here.
