Amid outcries that natural gas extraction, by hydraulic fracturing or “fracking”, is dangerous and could potentially contaminate water supply, one natural gas company, Piedmont Natural Gas released a sustainability report that promises safety and reduced emissions.

One of the company’s programs discussed in the report is the “Take 20” program, which encourages workers to “take 20 seconds to think before you take a specific action.” It is intended to reduce accidents associated with fracking and other tasks.
