This year, Breaking Energy is covering the USAEE conference in full force.

Hosted by the United States Association for Energy Economics, the conference is taking place in Washington DC this year from October 9 – 12. In this video, Breaking Energy Managing Editor Peter Gardett kicks of the conference with a video introduction. Read his in-depth analysis of the conference: Making The Numbers Sing In DC.

The conference sessions have already touched on a wide range of issues facing the American and global energy industries and economies. One session touched on OPEC “fair price” market impacts and another on the liquified natural gas market (LNG) and how exports are affecting prices.

Robert Simon, majority staff director of the Senate Energy & Natural Resources Committee told the conference that policy has been stalled in Washington by a worse than “do-nothing” Congress. Read more: Bipartisan Energy Options ‘Hostage’ In Congress.

If you’re at the conference, follow the coverage to hear round-ups and summaries, and if you’re not at the conference, our coverage will hopefully help you imagine that you are there, listening to the sessions yourself.
